Mission Statement

Making a Difference with Christ.

Vision Statement

First Christian Church is commited to Worship God, Proclaim Jesus Christ, and Grow in Faith, Hope, and Love.

Welcome Patty!

On Sunday, May 4, Patty Rhoads, daughter of Larry and Jeanne Howard, came forward and declared her faith in Jesus Christ and is now a member of FCC.  Patty and her husband Bob reside near Barry and are parents of James and Danny Durlin.  We welcome them to our church family and look forward to continuing to worship with them.

Teacher Recognition Sunday

Sunday, May 18 will be Teacher Recognition Sunday as we lift up our Sunday School and Wednesday Youth Leaders.  Each one will be recognized for volunteering their time and doing such a wonderful job teaching our youth the word of the Lord.  Without these excellent individuals our youth programs would not be possible.  Thank you!

Church League Softball

Michael Smith is once again rounding up individuals to play on our team for the Church League games at the lake.  If you would like to play on our co-ed slow pitch team contact Michael.  The desire to have a good time is a requirement, softball talent is optional!

It Was Time To Clean

Thank you to everyone who helped "deep clean" the nursery last week.  Spring was in the air so it was time to do the spring cleaning.  All toys and furniture were washed and Gary Mendenhall volunteered (or got volunteered) to shampoo the carpet.  It looks great!

Progress, Progress

Have you seen the new trees planted at the Congregational Park?  The Congregational Park Committee continues to move forward as the spring weather allows beautifying the property.

Appreciated So Much

Dear Church Family - Thank you all so much for the prayers during my pregnancy.  We are so excited to share our new bundle with his new church family.  We are so blessed to have so many wonderful and caring people in our lives.  Thank you for all the cards and kind words as well.  Wanda, Kathy, Renita, Sandy and Amy – thank you for the delicious meals.  It was great not having to worry about what to cook!  All our love, Jacob, Robin, Cale & Blake Herron.

Volunteers At It Again

Greetings to all you super volunteers!  What a fantastic Brunch and Garage Sale morning we had at Crossroads Saturday.  "Thank you" isn't enough to say for all the hours and hours you all spent cooking, serving, scraping dishes, washing dishes, cleaning tables, moving tables.  The list goes on and on just like your loving, willing, caring spirits.  The food was absolutely outstanding as was the fellowship.  Thank you all so much.

Take a long deep breath and let's serve the PHS Sr. Honors Banquet Tuesday, May 20.  We will be peeling potatoes Tuesday morning at 9 am.  Bring your favorite peeler and come to the kitchen for fun and laughter.  The sign up sheet is on the coffee table for all the other job opportunities or call Joyce if you would like to help.  Thank you!

You Have Mail

Committee chairs need to check your mailbox outside the Long Room this Sunday and every week as many have items added to each.

Mississippi Valley Christian Service Camp

If you attended Mississippi Valley Christian Service Camp last year then you should soon receive a camp registration form in the mail.  If not the church has some in the office.  Once again CMF (Christian Men's Fellowship) will pay one half of the camp fees.  Bring your completed registration form to the church along with your payment payable to FCC for your one half of the fee.  The church will mail registration forms along with full payment to MVCSC.  Last year we had 27 youth attend camp.  High School will be the first camp June 15-20 with our very own Pastor Michael TenEyck as one of the Deans.  Don't delay, register today!

Address

If you would like to send a card to Joyce Kelley, Bob Clark's cousin, her addess is 224 N. Clinton, Pittsfield.
