How to Receive Help

  1. Assistance may be received through Pike County Unmet Needs once per year.
  2. All cases presented must be accompanied by a release of information, signed by the client(s).
  3. Each agency may choose which case to assist and to what extent assistance will be given.
  4. Agencies presenting cases maintain case management responsibility.
  5. All commitments of resources, by any participating agency are voluntary and may be based on the agencies individual criteria for service.
  6. Payments will only be made to the vendors.

HOW NEEDS ARE MET

1. Get in touch with a Case worker by contacting one of the members of the Pike County Unmet Needs.
2. Cases are screened for appropriateness and presented by the case manager agency for consideration by the Unmet Needs meeting.
3. Cases are reviewed for needs. Discussion of the case will reflect any pertinent information that might affect whether the committee chooses to provide assistance. All information is kept confidential and any breech of confidence would be grounds for removal of a member.
4. The caseworker will share the commitment of other agencies with their clients.
5. Members are notified by the caseworker when the case is closed.

WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS

In the summer of 2003, a coalition of private and public Pike County organizations from to assist individuals and families in crisis who have exhausted all other avenues of assistance. It was named, Pike County Unmet Needs.
Pike County Unmet Needs is unique in that it pools both resources and the experience of community representatives from public agencies, institutions, churches, not-for-profit organizations, as well as individuals in a team effort to brainstorm reasonable solutions for individuals in crisis.

HOW WE RECEIVE OUR FUNDING

Funding for Pike County Unmet Needs comes from a variety of resources. We receive grants from foundations such as the Tracy Family Foundation and the Illini Health Care Foundation. Other contributors to the Unmet Needs, include Ameren CIPS with their "Dollar More" program and Illinois Rural Electric. We also receive donations from individuals for services they may render, such as auto repair.
