Soda Can Recycling

Let Rosemary Clark or the church office know if you have a large quantity of aluminum cans for the church to recycle.  The collection canister is on the west side of the fellowship hall.

Please save Bar Code from Campbell soup and Campbell products. Thank you, CWF.

There is a box outside Rebecca's office for your card fronts. Hilda Dunham bundles and mails these card fronts to a boy's ranch in Nevada where they make and sell lovely new cards from our recycled cards.

Board Meeting Excerpts

This is a summary only of the July 13, 2010 Board Minutes which are in draft stage and will be reviewed at the next regular meeting August 10, 2010.  Copies of the Board Reports are available from the church office.

During June Michael had several funerals and spent a lot of time on pastoral counseling and calls.

High School week went well at MVCSC.  Luke was Assistant Dean with Pastor Michael and Pastor Edison.   Nine individuals went to St. Louis Dream Center on CYF trip.   Luke has been organizing Open Gyms at Crossroads giving him the opportunity to meet new high school kids in the community.  He has been helping with the Summer Lunch Program.   He has been preparing for the Lock-In for LIFE and working with the Junior High Band.

Contributions are ahead of budget $30,000.  Disbursements under budget about $10,000.  Crossroad mortgage $434,071.  YTD mortgage principal paid $93,643.

The Summer Lunch Program attendance is growing.  The need at this time has been higher in the outlying towns.  It has been opened up to older kids.  Other communities have called and asked if we will come to their towns next year.

Wednesday Youth will move to the church and the curriculum is changing.

Michael Boren, Hamer, Jenny, and N.D. discussed and shared their experiences regarding the 25th anniversary of DHF Conference.

Walking Hours

Crossroads is closed for walking for the season.  Watch the newsletter and local newspapers for our reopen date this fall.  Thank you weekly volunteers who have come in to man the office and provide this service to the community.  Your time is appreciated!
